Valerie Hobbs

Owner/ Director

Valerie Hobbs attended East Carolina University where she studied a BFA in dance and theater with a concentration in modern and jazz dance. She has had the privilege of studying jazz under Jay Norman who was in the movie cast of West Side Story and studied under Jerome Robbins. She has spent the last 30+ years teaching dance and master classes at numerous studios. She has owned her own dance studio in many states as she followed her active duty Marine husband.  Valerie was selected for and cheered and danced in the Hula Bowl in Hawaii in 1994 and 1995. She spent six years working for Eastern Cheerleading and Dance Association where she was a main instructor and on the choreography staff. Valerie has done musical theater her whole life with some of her roles being Erma in “Anything Goes”, and Milly in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. She has been a Cheerleading Coach for many middle and high schools. She was the Assistant Director and Choreographer for University of South Carolina Beaufort Children’s Theater. Valerie also has been the choreographer for several gymnastic teams and has been trained in spotting tumbling. When she is not sharing her passion for dance and theater, Valerie enjoys playing softball and spending time with her family. Her husband, Mike, is retired from the Marine Corps and they have three children; Kaitlyn, Alison and Zach.
