Alison Hobbs

Creative Co-Director

Alison Hobbs is a recent graduate from California State University: Fullerton who received a BA in dance. While she was receiving her degree, Alison had many opportunities to work with well known choreographers and perform their pieces. Alison has worked with Meg Madorin by being set in Trisha Brown’s Set and Reset, Clarence Brooks as he taught a group variation of Talley Beatty’s solo Mourner’s Bench, and Stephanie Liapis by being casted in Small Acts of Living. During the summer of 2020, Hobbs was presented the opportunity to learn a piece entitled Absence is Never Far that was choreographed and taught by Colin Connor, a teacher and former artistic director of the Limon Dance Company. In 2021, Alison had the opportunity to attend Deeply Rooted Dance Company’s Summer Intensive, where she worked for a month with several well known teachers in the industry gaining experience as a pre-professional.

After years of developing her choreographic process, Alison’s repertoire consists of Comprised of Moments (2022), Sensory Overload (2021), Sentience (2020), and many smaller projects. With the knowledge she has gained and the experience she has obtained, Alison is ready to apply her skills to teaching and creating an environment where children and adults can learn to express their creativity through movement without judgment.
